Reformation - Every Generation's Battle

About

Mission

Glory Days Student Camp exists to partner with local churches to see students biblically evangelized and discipled, to be raised up as the next generation of the Church: pastors, missionaries, elders, and lay people.

History

Chris Sheppard had been serving as a youth minister for several years when his heart began to be gripped with frustration over the shallowness and ineffectiveness of the ministry he saw around him and in his own life. Big events, celebrity speakers, and entertainment would never change the hearts of the students he had been called to serve. Frustration drove him to pray and seek the Lord, and in 1998, while reading Psalm 24, the Lord birthed a vision in his heart for a camp that “dug a hole so deep that only God could fill it”. Chris began to wonder what would happen if he lead a group of people somewhere away from all the distractions, and instead of filling that moment up with more distractions or human effort, allowed God to work as only He can.

In 2003 a group of over 100 youth and adults ascended a hill to an outdoor worship pavilion in Benton, TN for the very first Glory Days Student Summer Camp. Over the years God has continued to refine and shape the vision of Glory Days, but the core vision of meeting with God on His terms remains. The place can change, the people can change, but the core vision of meeting with God on His terms won’t.
